It’s been a whirlwind week, and despite all kinds of chaos on the personal front, I’ve managed to rustle up a few excellent pieces for your perusal.

A journalist friend’s excellent article on the power of affirmations, led me to discover more about how to set up an effective affirmation practice. I am looking to incorporate this into my daily routine.

An exceptionally informative and helpful video interview on how editors choose what to publish, conducted by the good folks at Bound India. While you’re there, subscribe to their Youtube channel and/or their podcast.

The always reliable Anne R Allen shares five common beginning writer storytelling mistakes.

This post over at the Brevity Blog really gave me the feels – I go through those phases too.

I’ve written about my submission process before, but this post goes into more detail and I find parts of my own process echoed here, though not all of it because I don’t write much poetry.

Here’s a list of 25 books you should check out if you want to write better – though the headline mentions bloggers, I think the list has something in it for everyone, including those pursuing creative writing and also those trying to build their mailing lists.
