Published A Haibun!

A few months ago, I took up poetry by joining a class hosted by Sufia Khatoon. She is a published award-winning poet, and when a few of us showed interest in learning, it didn’t take long to set up weekly classes and we were on our way.

Since then, I’ve written twenty-odd poems – a feat I’d never have accomplished if it wasn’t for the class. Through the group I came to know of a submission call at Parcham Online for music-themed poetry. Our guru Sufia encouraged us to write poems matching this theme and send them across. I wrote a haibun about following the music of AR Rahman in my teenage years, and it was accepted! Check it out in the Poetry Issue : August at No. 22 on the list!

I have continued writing and editing my poetry and also recently begun submitting more of them. Learning new forms and new ways in which poems can be written is a wild and most enjoyable ride!

But I haven’t given up on flash fiction and short stories yet! I’ve continued submitting some of those by digging out sources from the usual list:
